About Us

In February of 2020, Adel & Winterset TV & Appliance • Heating and Cooling will celebrate a major anniversary. Kenny Chapman will mark 60 years as the store’s owner. In 1960, Kenny was owner of Ken’s TV & Appliance Repair. The business was renamed Adel TV & Appliance and he has never looked back.

In its current location for the past 40 years, Adel TV & Appliance sells a wide range of appliances, electronics, beds, grills and smokers. They also sell, service and install Amana heating and cooling units, and Kenny has more than 30 years of geothermal experience. In 1994, a second location was established in Winterset offering the same small town service the Adel store is known for.

All five of Chapman’s children have worked at the business and two still do - daughter Tammy and son Terry. In fact, five generations of the Chapman Family have called Adel home. The business now employs 16 full time employees and occupies 1,200 sq. feet on Adel’s Main Street.

The Chapman family enjoys being a part of such a friendly and unique community and look forward to what the future holds.

They are amazing! My husband out of town but called because our geothermal not working. They came out quickly and fixed it!!! Can’t say enough about this business. Top notch customer service!

I want to give Adel TV & Appliance Kudos today. My Central Air unit stopped working about 8PM last night and It was miserable all night. I called them at 7 AM this morning and got on the list to have a technician come out this morning. He got here at 10, fixed my AC (We lucked out as it was only a capacitor). The unit is cooling and the total bill was $85 + tax. Every appliance in our home: refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, freezer, water heater, washer, dryer, microwave as well as our furnace and AC (Amana) is from their store in Adel. Thank You Kenny Chapman, Terry, and Wes!!!
